Subscriber Service Control System

The Subscriber Service Control System is the first System that combines Usage Quota and Excessive Use to manage persistent and transient peak Subscriber Demand.   Built on the Active Resource Manager platform, the Subscriber Service Control System leverages data collected using IP Detail Records to profile Subscriber use and network conditions, identify Subscribers meeting the criteria for Dynamic Service modification and effect dynamic service changes using PacketCable Multimedia.  Broadband Operators using the Subscriber Service Control System enjoy the ability to manage subscriber experience by dynamically controlling individual subscriber usage.
The Subscriber Service Control System can:

  • Manage Subscribers Service based upon Quota and peak period transient usage
  • Create Service Control Policies based upon Service Class
  • Profile subscribers when the network is congested and heavy use subscribers are potentially impacting other subscribers
  • Implement actions based upon combined Quota Usage and subscriber profiling
  • Establish different rules based upon trended heavy use period or time of day
  • Effect dynamic service change using integrated PacketCable Multimedia
  • Communicate with Customer using Subscriber Notification API
  • Manage DOCSIS 3.0 channel bonded devices
