Providing services that can be easily purchased and provisioned throughout the service footprint maximizes  revenue potential.  In less affluent or areas with high rates of home occupancy churn, this can present a significant problem.  Initial credit check failures of prospective subscribers, slow payment and delinquency impact revenue  potential and service profitability.  In multi-tenant dwellings with high turnover, the total cost of service provisioning  impacts service profitability.   
The Pre-Paid Service System is the first solution to providing simple, turn-key pre-paid service for High Speed Data provisioned using DOCSIS.  Built on the Active Resource Manager platform, the Pre-Paid Service System enables the installation of Cable Modems at subscriber premises that are activated using a web portal and a credit card.  The Operator can choose the service parameters for the subscriber based upon time, speed or traffic volume.  The customer chooses from a pre-defined menu of service choices and pays for the service using a credit card.   The Pre-Paid Service System is self contained and requires no integration with existing billing systems. 
The Pre-Paid Service System can:

• Deliver Service to Subscribers that do not meet credit requirements
• Reduce cost of provisioning Service in Multi-tenant rental properties
• Provide occasional use service for other rental and second homes
• Allow customers to choose to pay in advance by credit card without interaction with billing systems
