Do you know where all your CMTS are, of course you do? The Active Resource Manager constructs a topology database for all devices by processing IPDR data. This document describes how this topology information can be used to verify that all CMTS are reporting IPDR information by processing DHCP event messages. Using this method, you will always know that every CMTS providing service is sending subscriber usage information.
